Formal Lawns / Gardens

Grantham House logo

The town of Grantham
was built up around Grantham House.

The formal lawns and borders surrounding the lawns were transformed by Molly Wyldbore-Smith during her time here (the late 1960’s - until her death in 2001) The formal lawns are perfectly positioned in front of the house for the most perfect setting for an event.

They give you a magnificent view of the house, gardens and the stunning spire of St Wulfram’s church.  St Wulfram’s Church and Grantham House are both built from local Ancaster stone.  St Wulfram’s church has the second tallest spire in Lincolnshire at a height of 282 ft.

This gives a simply stunning backdrop to your special event.  The top of the formal lawns are surrounded by mature and varied trees. From the top lawn there is a picturesque view of the meadow and views to the river.
