Our Facilities

Grantham House is a Grade One listed site, being medieval and of national interest. This means that there are idiosyncrasies when using the venue, and this adds to the quirkiness and uniqueness of it. The location and space on this site mean it has endless possibilities in terms of what it can be used for. We are open to approach for all manner of events eg. weddings, private parties, festivals, artisan markets, courses, etc.

Formal Lawns

Grantham House gardens are an oasis in the centre of the historic quarter of Grantham.  Many people who have lived and worked in Grantham are unaware of what lies beyond the wall on Castlegate and are stunned when they first arrive.

Meadow

The charm of Grantham House is made even more appealing by the view across from the meadow to the river and Sedgewick meadows. The Meadow is a beautiful peaceful space for a festival style wedding with guests staying in bell tents, etc.

The Walled Garden

The walled garden is one of the real gems of Grantham House. The walled garden is a “Parterre” - a formal garden laid out on a level area made up of enclosed beds. Our Parterre features box hedging and colourful flowerbeds.

FAQ's

Has Grantham House been used for wedding receptions?

Yes since we have leased the house (from May 2021) and immediately following the lifting of the Coronovirus restrictions we held 2 wedding receptions. Both of which were beautiful and individual in their own way. Grantham House is in a unique position adjacent to St Wulfram’s church and Michelle and Gustaf walked from the church to Grantham House, simple, beautiful and very romantic.

Is Grantham House open to NT members?

No. St Wulfram’s church lease the house from The National Trust.  The house is open for Heritage Open Day every year and NT members can come along then.  It will of course be open for other ticketed events arranged by us during the year.

Can you hire individual parts of the garden or do you need to
hire it all?

No, you can hire different parts of the garden, or all of the garden for your event/occasion.
